BACS payments this week

Post by richard@imutual » Thu Jun 07 2012 9:01am

Due to the extra bank holiday this week, the date you would normally expect to receive a BACS redemption by moves from Friday to Monday.

However, if anyone would like us to process an individual payment faster than this we can accept individual requests if you let us know by 6pm today - drop me a private message. This will then be processed by faster payments later this evening, and then you should receive the funds in your account by tomorrow

Thank you for letting us know.
While I doubt that I need the £5 two days earlier, it's nice that Imutual and RY do care.

I'm sorry to bring this topic up again, but will it cost Imutual more to make payments more than once weekly (e.g: Mon,Wen and Fri). It will help compensate for using BACS. I don't think it takes too long to upload a .CSV.

I just wonder how much in money it costs the site to pay by BAC's and by Paypal. Should there be a minimum amount below which you cannot claim by BAC's and one for Paypal? I would not set it at a very high level but just wonder if a no minimum payout level costs the company too much money.

The money saved could be used for advertising to help grow the site. OK it would not pay for a TV ad but there is all sorts of advertising.

Just wondering how Richard and the members would feel about my musings.

Well actually, with BACS we pay on a 'per batch of payments' basis, so it makes no difference to our banking costs if the threshold is 1p or £10. With Paypal, we pay a % of each individual payment (up to a maximum) so again, changing the threshold doesn't really matter. So we might as well have a low minimum payout in order to provide the best service :)

Looks like there's a delay with this week's payments as well?

first time I've tried Paypal (as buying something off eBay) and it hasn't arrived and is still pending here. Maybe I should have done the usual BACS withdrawal.

No delay. The usual payment schedule is to expect payment by Friday. See What is the schedule for receiving a payment by Paypal?

Yes, now arrived at Paypal here. Never used the BACS option.
