New Google+1 button

When viewing a post on the forum, you may notice that the "Thumbs up" icon has been replaced by a "+1" icon. It still performs the same function i.e. thanking a post but it's also combined with Google's social network function. There is more information on this at http://www.imutual.co.uk/help/10/1525/

Note that you can switch this off if you want and revert to the old 'thumb' icon (see instructions in the above FAQ) but I'd urge you to give it a try for a while, as we hope the use of this combined "+1/thanks" feature can help to boost imutual in the long run

Will my Google Plus wall (or whatever they call it) be filled with imutual posts everytime I +1 something?

To be honest, I'm still trying to get my head around G+ but it doesn't appear to cover your wall (or G+ equivalent) with your +1s.

I've just been trying this out. It doesn't post to the "Posts" screen, but does appear on the "+1's" page.

TBH, I don't really know how to use G+. I've got a few friends on there but no-one seems to actively be using it

I have done the sensible thing and switched it off. There is no way I want to see all the posts from kevinchess1 when I am out of imutual. It is bad enough seeing them here.

For the time being, I've changed this so that the +1 button is shown alongside the Thanks (thumbup) icon rather than in place of it. Unless you've turned this off in your profile, in which case the +1 button doesn't appear at all.

Probably best to introduce these concepts, gradually....

If I click on the +1 button I get taken to a Google page that wants me to open an account. If I do not open an account does this still work? I am prepared to help the site but I do not want to open this account.

It does you require you to have a Google account. If you really don't want to open one, that's fine, I won't take it personally

Can somebody PM me and tell me how to turn off this rubbish? Everytime i try and look at a post/thread, i can only see maybe the first post and the rest is gibberish. Buttons and icons all over.

How do i get forums to look like they used to? As in readable.

Please PM me as if you post it on the forums, i probably wont see it.
