Re: Notice of EGM

So the extent of this proposal is: It's cheaper.

And then we carry on as we are?

I'm minded to vote against it just so to hear a proper case made for it. At the minute it feels like we're being asked to rubber-stamp our way into continued irrelevance.

Re: Share club valuation @ 8 Mar 2020

Did the "monthly" valuation thing get lost in the wash? Or did we choose to move to every two months / whenever?

Re: Coronavirus/COVID-19

UK 'to bring in 14-day quarantine for air passengers' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52594023 Simon Calder has just been on LBC extremely worried for the survival of the travel industry if this measure is enacted, expecting 5-figure job losses and pointing out that the WHO only recommend it du...

Re: Notice of EGM

IMutual probably won't go under - it could limp along for years to come with a few daily clicks. But that's about the limit of today's potential. In many ways I don't really blame Richard for this outlook but it would help everybody if it was more explicitly stated because it would save us all havi...

Re: Notice of EGM

I'm not sure anybody suggested it was, though. We all know this is basically a one-person operation, which is why the business model of giving away 'ownership' of the site to us is probably no longer the correct one. So why not be up-front about it? People who have been told they 'own' the site are ...

Re: Notice of EGM

Just to add, I think the idea of 'shares' and mutuality is pretty much dead here. Putting it to bed may be no bad thing, I imagine "feedback" like this is not your favourite way to spend the evening. So be up front. Drop it. Organise a graduated share buy-back paid in cashback over the next X transa...

Re: Notice of EGM

There's no point inviting anyone here until this site is entirely overhauled and the offer is different / improved. No mobile. An archaic front end that should be selling its brands and links but instead is littered with streams of text "offers" inputted by users. No social media presence? In 2020? ...

Re: Notice of EGM

Every point I made earlier stands and I'm still deeply pessimistic for the prospects for the site going forwards. However, I reluctantly voted to support Richard's motion. £6k is a lot throw away on accountants. But it really needs to be spent on the site. If the proposal is passed, I'd like to see ...

Re: ADVERTISING: One for Richard...

How are you going to turn radio ears into clicks?

Very difficult.

Online ads better. And the best online ad is a polished offer on this very site.
