Hmm, thought I might give them a try. The only option for my postcode is "shop online, collect for free", nearest store a 30 mile round trip. Or, I could just sit back and let Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Ocado or Iceland deliver it to my door...

They are 2 totally separate companies. Ocado sell some Waitrose-label groceries, but nothing more than that. Ocado isn't even part of the John Lewis Group anymore.

Do you know if you count as a new customer if you've previously used Ocado?

Waitrose may be a little dearer here & there (notably some fresh products I find) but they deliver online shopping for free. That more than makes up for a few extra pence on some items.

They claim to match Tesco prices now; although it only seems to apply to branded goods and they don't duplicate Tesco offers (presumably they'd say that they do their own offers instead). Still... £5 off £75 isn't going to tempt me even with an extra £10 cashback!

Even at Waitrose prices I would struggle to spend £75 a week and the bank balance would certainly suffer. Our main account is a joint one and I am annoyed when I check the monthly statement if the amount spent is bigger than the amount arrived. I know we save a regular amount each week (Direct Debit into a savings account) but I like the main account to grow as well. Things happen, new clothes, holidays etc. Do not want to touch the savings account for them. :D
