"Jumping to conclusions about causality is not meeting the BBC's requirement for impartiality"
Jacob Rees-Mogg, expressing his frustration at not being able to control the conversation in an interview on R4s "Today" programme and denying that Kwarteng's actions had been the trigger for fluctuations in the value of the pound and government bonds.
How dare these people question the Moggster's interpretation of events..... don't they know their place???

I'm a little surprised it's even up for debate. It was an immediate and clearly linked reaction. The BoE said so. Moggy should be justifying why Kwarteng's budget decisions and subsequent financial disruption were necessary, not denying they had a negative impact.

The cabinet are all denying it. Their strategy once again is denying reality to avoid accountability.
Gillian Tett of the FT gives Channel 4 News her verdict on the UK government pretending that the financial crash has nothing to do with its so-called mini budget:

The words of a Just Stop Oil activist who appeared to throw tomato soup over Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers painting at London’s National Gallery.
No damage as the painting was covered by glass

Obviously not a clacissist (or Nice fan) - Ars Longa, Vita Brevis.
Yesterday is tomorrow's history and art will still be there, even if life terminates........
