Last time I went to any Supermarket cafe was to Sainsbury for a bacon sandwich a couple of weeks ago.

Firstly, the coffee machine was broken. Secondly, they "had no bread"(!!!) and lastly the "chef" had already gone home. It was 1525.

Pathetic.

I wonder if Sainsbury cafes are having a bad time, mine here in Eastbourne recently closed as did the pharmacy. They have obviously not quite got the offering right.

I believe the one I went to is also in the process of being closed down. No great loss......

I rarely visit the shop and certainly not for the cafe. I went on the last occasion with a friend on the way home from a museum trustee's meeting and the only outcome was that we wasted time looking for somewhere else to buy a snack.

However, we went to a nearby coffee-shop and the price they wanted for a "bacon, rocket and tomato sandwich" was almost the depost for a small house..... so we ended up with a sausage roll!!
