My partner says she is hardly surprised; one of those "influencers" highlighted on the web a particular blouse so she went into an L K Bennet branch as asked to see the blouse they supplied by name only to be greeted by the member of staff with "I don't know?". So attempting again she described the blouse only to realise that the member of staff was not too good at speaking English - she said it was a white silk like finish blouse - only to be shown a stripped high-neck part lace blouse...! The only available course of action at that point was to say thank you for your help and leave the store...!
Hence, when I said they are having financial issues the reply was "...so I am hardly surprised!"
That kind of puts a different angle on the fall of the British High Street Retailers! = overpriced, bad recruitment, lack of training and lack of feeding market information down the chain. If you add to this rising rents and rates along with dwindling cashflow to buy new stock, no wonder its the end of the line for some retailers...
