I think we should widen the net on the share buy choices and give any member a chance to put forward a prospective share buy.
I know this sounds like a good thing but if we refer back to how we used to run things we remember the can of worms this approach opened, so understandably I am personally not overly inclined to want us to bring that back.

I agree, we tried that previously and it did not work very well. I can see why this might seem attractive and potentially adventageous but I would need to be convinced with firm assurances that members would receive decent quality/well researched/well presented propositions before entertaining the idea of a return to this approach.

OK, so we are now in a position of cash strength to decide who wants to continue in the club and who wants to withdraw. I would like every member to cut and paste the below and update accordingly.
Thanks!

I am again in 2 minds over this and its a very hard decision to make but i have decided to leave, there is no hurry to do this. My cashback is struggling now so do not think i can make the agreed amounts to pay in currently.

It should be raised that I intend to alter the Club's rules to make things more appropriate now more money is in the investment pot and obtaining cashback is much harder than it was previously. No longer can anyone get the £10 investment on just dailies, for example, which used to be the case had anyone so wished.

Yes definitely a good shout because I think hardly anyone would be able to guarantee meeting that minimum requirement for the foreseeable future, however looking at the current CIC value and the number of members it is obvious that there has been a clear commitment over a sustained period. Unless anyone desperately needs the money I would encourage them to stay along for the ride. We are steadily increasing in value (when viewed on a medium-long term basis) and learning a bit along the way as well as hopefully enjoying the emotional roller coaster of highs/lows of the fluctuating market.

It is definitely the case that current members should not decide to leave based on the current investment "committment" in the rules. To be honest I think as long as the club has sufficient funds in it to hold 4 or five investments of ~£1000 each over the coming months, this would be absolutely fine for a healthy situation. It is less about adding £10 more every now and then than the experience of investing, though of course the more we can invest the better it is for the Club's breadth of investment potential and growth.
I do think we need to be practical.
That said I do think new members should show committment by investing.

Sorry a bit late to the party but myself and wife will stay along for the ride (added above).
All the investments are the very opposite to my method of investing and its been a fun ride so far, apart from counting the amount of times Ive been wrong.

Hi All,
Sorry for the delay. I don't think I will be able to continue funding at the expected levels and to help this group. I have decided to make the difficult decision to leave this group. Sorry and thank you.
