From his early appearances in drag as Lily Savage to his many programmes of his love for dogs, he seemed the kind soul who was ill-suited to stardom.

Such sad news, enjoyed many of his shows but not keen on the Battersea Dogs Home ones. Love dogs but just not that sort of programme. But what I did see of it showed the real man and he was a lovely one
