Sunak makes rare speech in Downing street highlighting extremism.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68451333

What he does not say, is that a lot of comes about because of the attitude of his MP's and the con partys attitude. Blame all but himself. He is right that some protests have become extreme. But people will follow the example given and do what they think they can get away with. The governing party is no good example whatsoever.

I do wonder whether this is heralding some sort of a crackdown on protests generally.

I am amazed that so much of it is allowed to leak out. It really is very wrong.

In the 1940's a Chancellor mentioned something to a newspaper reporter as he went into the chamber. It was in the paper on the streets as fast as the presses could roll. The Chancellor had to resign for giving away budget secrets before the speech.

Now we have press briefings to favoured journalists before the budget. And this time the Govt. even confirmed the National Insurance cut leak was true.

The whole system of government imo, has become a complete joke. Even to the extent that (it is rumoured) because the budget did not go down as well as hoped. The remotely possible May election will not happen, as Hunt/Sunak now feel they must have a go at an Autumn budget, to see if they can get better polling figures.

Fact or speculation? who knows? But I just wish they would clear out and go to the other side of the Commons. It seems clear to me they are a spent force. They seem to think that tax cuts will be the saviour. Truth could not be farther away, they are really so out of touch.

I cannot believe that people do not see through them. I will be gutted if they do get in again. Am I misreading it all?

The below from Politico is interesting. They need to learn how to spell though. (Oh I just learnt you can spell lacklustre either way)

They know they are doomed - but they haven't finished salting the earth yet. The non-dom status ploy was only the start..... giveaway to the electorate the funds earmarked by Labour to underwrite improvements and ensure thet the only way they will be able to do anything is to raise taxes or cut services.

Then bide their time, snipe from the sidelines, supported by their media friends and hope they can con their way back into power next time.
