A £175 welcome when you switch

You could also pocket £175 for switching to us. You just need to:
  • Switch a non-Nationwide bank account with at least two active Direct Debits to us
  • Switch to us online
  • Close your non-Nationwide bank account when you switch. We're able to do this for you - just make sure you select this option when you’re requesting your switch
  • Complete your switch within 28 days
And within 31 days of requesting the switch, you need to:
  • Put at least £1,000 into the account
  • Pay for something once using your debit card. Some transactions - like gambling - don’t count towards this, so make sure you check the terms

can existing customers benefit from the offer by switching into a new 2nd Nationwide current account?

Was thinking of doing this switch but I’m with virgin who nationwide has just taken over virgin money. I take it I would not get the £175 bonus offer?

would the transfer be from Virgin > Nationwide?

It might work and probably more likely to be successful right now than in the future. There's no specific mention of Virgin Money or Clydesdale in the T&Cs.

Term 12 has disqualification reasons that include "You switched from one Nationwide account to another" so it depends whether that means Nationwide brand or Nationwide ownership.

Perhaps try it and find out? :thumbup:

The terms and conditions haven't changed since September 2024.
• You either:
- apply for and successfully open a FlexAccount, FlexPlus or FlexDirect current account with us through our website, Internet Bank or Banking app and select to switch during that application; or
- already have a FlexAccount, FlexPlus or FlexDirect account and you use our Internet Bank to switch account you have with another provider to us.
The disqualifying terms include:
9. You will only be eligible for this offer on your first sole current account and first joint current account that you switched to us since 18 August 2021, and that have not benefited from this or any previous current account online switch offer.
12. For clarity, you will also not qualify for this offer if:
- You are switching into a Nationwide current account that has already been switched into and benefitted under this or any previous current account online switch offer since 18 August 2021.
- This is not your first sole current account or first joint current account that you switched to us since 18 August 2021 which has not benefited from this or any previous current account online switch offer.
