From May 2023, British passport-holders will have to provide biometrics (facial image and fingerprints) on entry to the Schengen area (most EU member states, but not Ireland).
The Port of Dover has estimated that processing time at passport control will go up from 90 seconds to 10 minutes. On this basis, wait times of 60-90 mins will increase to around 6 hours.
Clearly this will deter lots of people from travelling to Europe and they will boost our economy by spending money here instead.

The 10 minutes estimate appears to be for a "family of four" so that's 2.5 minutes each.

Going to New York by plane and dealing with Airport border staff is probably easier than going to Calais via Dover and having to deal with French border staff.

That's OK, we have no intention of going to France whatsoever!

Not sure what New York has to do with Brexit. The Schengen area I can understand the context.

Poll finds collapse in Brexit approval
Only 32% of British voters now think the UK was right to leave the European Union, according to a new poll. Some 56% think Britain was wrong to leave, with the rest saying they don’t know, according to YouGov. This week Rishi Sunak has “appeared to abandon” hopes of signing a promised Brexit trade deal with the US by the next election and former environment secretary George Eustice admitted that the deal the UK had managed to sign with Australia was “not actually very good,” said The Independent.

Government spokesperson: "The pandemic has prevented us from seeing the benefits of Brexit"
Translation: "You haven't felt the real pain yet......."
The one part of the UK to have seen growth since Brexit is NI - yet NI is the "least efficient" part of the UK...... so, figure out how much access to the single market is worth
